I can confirm this behaviour on Hardy A6 w/ Ubuntu 2.6.24-12.22-generic and
xorg 7.3+10ubuntu7
It doesn't appear to be so much caused by Firefox, rather applications that
have animation (Banner and ticker on the Blogger page, as well as the resource

I'm on Hardy A6 and I was unable to get my Brother HL-2040 to print test pages.
I'm using:
brother-lpr-drivers-common 1.0.0-2-0ubuntu1

I performed the setup in the cups admin page using the packaged PPD
file.
This problem normally raises it's head for me when there is some glitch
in a stream using AC3 passthrough (DVD's) or when the player crashes
during playback. This results in most audio playback ceasing to work
*except* for AC3. If the asound.state is stuck configured for AC3 pass
through, then it m

Saïvann, that is closer as the test page now prints, however the placement is
off by about 2cm from the top of the page. I'm also still getting the following
messages in my cups log:

Same here for upgrade from 2.6.24-11 to 2.6.24-12. I have the HDA Intel
controller, which was also had a patch in the last recent alsa update.

For anyone experiencing this issue, a work around is to perform kill -1
on dhclient (prevents a new ip from being obtained). I performed a
system restart after doing this and dhclient did not start again, and
the correct static IP was set.
