Public bug reported:
Binary package hint: network-manager
I am experiencing loss of DNS shortly after starting up and connecting
to the local network. At first it works fine, then 5 minutes later it
just stops. This happens everyday.
On inspection of /etc/resolv.conf I find that it has been over

UPDATE
This week I've been pestering people on the ubuntu-x, awt-dev (OpenJDK)
and xorg mailing lists about this.
As of Xorg server 1.3 the Xinerama backend implementation has been
replaced with a 'fake' Xrandr one [0] which now handles the Xinerama
protocol. Unfortunately this has changed the in

Hi
I am fairly certain now that this is the same problem as reported in
#83178. An upstream fix is already available. I'm going to mark this as

UPDATE 2
* Tonight I managed to get all the way through a compile.
* Tested - gets to kboot prompt ok but won't boot my installed OS kernel which
is at the moment 2.6.22-14. At next opportunity will build a 2.6.24 kernel and
see if that helps.
* Started updating packaging scripts, yet to test
It would be great to get Petitboot packaged and usable too. Could
someone raise a bug for that if there's not already one open?

Hi japheth
The patch modifies Java's C programmed base, and therefore requires a
complete rebuild of Java from source code.
To apply it on Ubuntu you'd need to learn a little about Ubuntu software
packaging [0] and package maintenance [1], or compile your own
independent version of either OpenJDK

Ok I'll look out for it.
BTW I've moved to Feisty now and have not noticed this issue on TB.
Before I moved I hadn't experienced the issue again since the upstream
patch was applied. I think that must have solved it.

Hi
Could you tell me
