[Bug 157199] Re: xdvi fails to work with compiz

2008-07-23 Thread Dan Christensen
I get both of these problems on the two up-to-date hardy systems I have access to. One is running AMD64 and the other is running the 32-bit x86. Both use the nvidia-glx-new binary driver and have compiz enabled. The 64-bit machine has this video card: nVidia Corporation G70 [GeForce 7300 GT] (

2008-07-23 Thread Dan Christensen
I think this bug should be reopened, since there is no confirmation of a fix with a hardy install (using compiz and nvidia-glx-new), and I can reproduce it every time. To me, the fact that xdvi doesn't display properly until a resize is a very minor issue. The crashing of the X server is much mor

I get this problem consistently on my jaunty machine. I log in first. Then my kids log into their account using the fast user switcher. Then I switch back to mine and connect a camera. Very often the camera device ends up being owned by the kids and gnome pops up a window on their desktop asking

2018-05-04 Thread Dan Christensen
Public bug reported: During a "do-release-upgrade -d" from 16.04 to 18.04, an unrelated error occurred. DNS didn't work at that time, so I removed resolvconf. I manually updated my sources.list and did a successful dist-upgrade. Then I tried to reinstall resolvconf, and got the error below. Ins

I installed version 3.28.1-0ubuntu3 of gnome-session-bin gnome-session-common and ubuntu-session from bionic-proposed, and the problem went away. (When I upgraded from 16.04 to 18.04, do-release-upgrade stopped with an error, so I did the rest of the upgrade manually.) -- You received this bug n
