HP Slate 500 (GMA500) running Precise 12.04 Desktop (i386) installed
from the liveCD upon release day.
Applied fixes from the Wiki: Alt+F1 -> Login -> sudo service lightdm
restart -> add "console=tty1" to grub.
Rebooted and still getting the purple screen then black screen a
Forgot to mention, I did not install any different drivers. So it'll be
on the PSB_GFX drivers

Black Login Screen - GMA500 (After Wiki Fixes Applied)

I don't have those keys on the Bezel (it is a Slate).
I have to apply that fix as per the instructions on the Wiki for the
drivers. It says use that fix to correct the black screen login, however
it does not work.
If I use those commands on the keyboard, it gives me a text based login.

I have attached a picture of the problem with the calender off the top
of the screen when the clock is on the bottom panel. Note you can only
see a slight bar at the top right corner of the screen.

I get this too. Upgrade from 10.04 LTS to 10.10. Only occurs when clock
