I'm able to reproduce this. I'll add some screenshots and my
submission.xml file.

In Precise, I get different (better/correct) behavior.
While Chrome is still my default browser, the View Results button now opens the
file using Firefox.
I do not receive any pop-up error message.
>From that perspective, it seems this is fixed.
However: If I manually open the file using Chrome,
I can reproduce this issue in 11.10.
Steps:
- Click on speaker icon
- Applet pops up
- Click on slider
- Applet disappears
- Click on speaker icon a second time.
- Applet appears, and slider moves left/right with the mouse until I click.
