Looks like the transition to ACPI mode is broken in the BIOS - the
request is just returning MODE_LEGACY which explains why we probably get
breakage on the 2nd suspend/resume cycle. Will try the latest firmware

One other thing to try is to force the unloading/loading of the sdhci
and ricoh_mmc drivers over the suspend/resume. I suggest the following
workaround:
sudo gedit /etc/default/acpi-support
and change the MODULES="" line to MODULES="sdhci_pci sdhci richoh_mmc "

sorry, I wasn't fully clear. Suspend the machine, and the resume the
machine and see if it can be ping'd when resumed. If this works, then I
suspect it's a problem with the video driver

@Ofir, I've got an updated wakealarm test script that may fix this
issue. Please re-run the attached script - hopefully it will set the
wakealarm correctly now.

I've seen this problem on other N280 based systems - specifically, the
kernel is getting the incorrect CPU speed from the BIOS ACPI tables. To
test this hypothesis, try booting with the kernel boot option:
acpi=off
If you get the full 1.66GHz with this option it means that your BIOS is
reporting

@Andre, it may be worth editing /etc/default/acpi-support (using sudo)
and adding in the names of these modules inside the quotes on the
MODULES="" line, e.g.:
MODULES="sbp2 ohci1394"
..then test suspend-resume and see if this works around the problem.
