2 add-apt-repository ppa:paelzer/bug-1837869-locking-of-snapshots-v2
3 apt-get update -y
4 apt-get install qemu=1:2.11+dfsg-1ubuntu7.17~

I'm a Louis' coworker and I also worked on this issue.
We first did some tests starting from 2.12 to find a workaround with qemu-img.
It seemed that this version of qemu was immune to our bug. Then, we backport
packages from cosmic and reproduce our production issue.
