I can also confirm this on 8.10. For me the symptoms are a little
different. I have my screensaver set to lock my gnome session when
engaged. I have seen twice now where I have returned to my computer in
the morning, the screensaver is still running just fine, but when I
enter my password to sig
GNOME Shell assigns known tray icons a 'role' based on their WM_CLASS.
If the role that is filled by a native Shell status indicator, the icon
is hidden. That list could be patched for a quick fix, but I'd prefer
using the upstream icon as a fallback; is there any chance of that
