too wide. lpr, Adobe Reader and xpdf print pages in its correct size---
whereas the last two actually invoke lpr ...

I don't know how to test alpha 2 without CD drive (X200(s) doesn't have
a CD drive). If there's a way to create an USB stick let me know. I'll
try the latest upstream kernel build ASAP.

No, my main issue is not that the right-hand part of the page is cutt
off. I even can't confirm this for evince-print-preview.png ... It's the
same amount of grid lines in the original PDF and the print preview (and

I know what you mean, I observed the same before. And yes, originally it
was a table but that's an information not included in this PDF file
because it's not a tagged PDF file. AR 9 and Xpdf don't have this
problem; screenshots attached.

whether this bug is still present in recent versions of Evince.

I just installed hdparm v9.37 from source. I set the S option to 1 (5
seconds) and it worked. But 20 seconds later the disk spun up again (I
did not access it). So I tried the Ubuntu version of hdparm with -S set
to 1---and it worked, too. But the disk spun up again after 20 seconds.

checked because it wasn't properly unmounted. SMART values are
inconspicuous.

The same issues here since 10.04, now with emacs-snaphshot, emacs23 and
OOo. Furthermore, running one of the mentioned applications slows my
machine down---it seems to be frozen (Dual core CPU @ 1,86 GHz, 4 GB
RAM). Yes, this is annoying. But vseguip's work around fixed it indeed
and gave my machin
For some time now---since 10.10 or latest BIOS upgrade (September 2010)?
---my ThinkPad's fan acts like I expect it to do: It only runs at
reasonable speeds if the temperature of some components rises. It spins
down as temperatures drop and it even stops running when components are
"cool" again.
