I just realized that when trying to set display brightness in "Power Management
Preferences" to some levels also triggers the

I installed all available updates yesterday on a Dell C400 and the initial bug
is solved.
I don't say that it looks pretty booting (way too little colours) and that it
is like it should be (dithering problem)

just tested this again on Lucid Beta 2 with all updates and it does work
with compiz as with metacity.
There shows a different issue though:
When pressing Alt+Tab the switching order is from right to left, adding Shift
reverses it - but when
you start out with Alt+Shift+Tab the order is also from
^^switching order problem only with metacity

Running Lucid B2 with all recent updates on 2.6.32-21-generic
the signal reception is still far inferior to Windows.
It just picks up 3 wlans compared to ~15 in Windows.
