I am also experiencing this problem. I am using Yakuake under Gnome. The
shortcut will retract Yakuake if it is open, but will not open it again.
I have checked to make sure that it is still running. Neither my custom
shortcut (meta+space) nor the default F12 work.

In case there is anyone wondering if it's KDE-specific: I've installed
XFCE4 on both of my systems to get them usable again. Under XFCE, I've
seen none of the problems that occurred under KDE.

This seems to have been fixed sometime in the last week. Everything is

I am experiencing this as well, on two separate systems. They are both
systems that were originally running standard Ubuntu, but were then
switched over to Kubuntu by installing kubuntu-desktop and removing
various Gnome-related packages (it's very possible that there are some

I struggled with this issue for a while as well, and managed to figure
out what was going on. The solutions is to create a skins directory in

problem is that the package doe

Public bug reported:
Edgy runs like a dog on Transmeta Crusoe-based machines. A kernel
compiled specifically for the Crusoe helps somewhat, but compiling a
kernel oneself is a pain and not recommended. It would be nice to see a
Crusoe kernel package.

Importance: Undecided
That's probably true - I think they've switched over to licensing their
patents to other companies rather than manufacturing their own chips.
Still, the current installed base of Crusoe-based machines, while small,
is large enough to warrant a custom kernel, IMHO. I'm not familiar with
