sudo nvidia-xconfig
and then run:
sudo nvidia-settings
You now *should* be able to save your settings.. Let me know if that

After upgrading to the fix for bug #530716 Lernid is now working for
me.. If someone else can confirm this, I say mark invalid as a Lernid
bug.
