I can confirm the same bug on my Lenovo S10-3C.
The consensus on google is ACPI DSDT problems on this laptop. I tried
all kernels upto 2.6.36.1 and still same result no keyboard.
I have attached dmesg ACPI related error log in the hope someone is able
to upload a custom dsdt which works for this
I can confirm that upto kernel 3.1 the bios "bug" in Lenovo s10-3c will make
the keyboard to NOT work if ACPI is enabled.
I doubt if Lenovo bios update will fix the problem since with this model (and
perhaps others) , Lenovo supplies only Windows and do not support any Linux. I
tried a few BIOS
Would like to point out an errata above.
You can set GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT and it will work,
but it is actually better to set GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX="acpi=off noapic"
Since that will enable the keyboard for recovery mode also.

Unlike windows , in linux the default user account , in your case

I would like to add some information to this bug report. I had a similar issue

Your hard disk has errors and needs to be replaced. I would suggest you
copy your data elsewhere and reinstall ubuntu on a new hard disk (unless
you know how to rsync your OS to another hdd).

I would like to add that i faced a similar problem with VLC using
--input-slave alsa:// .
While dmesg shows no errors , i was getting stuttering audio while recording.
Only workaround i found was to launch vlc using the padsp launcher script and
using --input-slave oss://

Public bug reported:
I have noticed this issue with pcmanfm-qt only so far.
All was working fine when I upgraded from 18.04 to 20.04 about 2 weeks back.
About 3 days back I ran:
apt-get dist-upgrade
And since then I've noticed this issue. Let me know if I should
downgrade and hold back any packa
I can also confirm seeing the dithering or missing pixels in Google
chrome stable (from google repo) when hovering over an image. The title
popup shows this same issue.
So its likely an issue with X.Org or some X11 library. Seems to occur in
both QT & GTK apps. However custom rendered popups like
I'm using only lxqt-panel here, Not the old lxpanel application. Issue
isn't with lxqt-panel as the popups on taskbar work fine.
Whats strange here is that after the upgrade from 18.04 to 20.04, everything
was working fine including the transparency / selection background in the . I
