Here is a workaround that worked for me ( who uses a Logitech Mouse.)
But I think it will occur with ANY mouse !
I identified that "hciconfig" reported that hci0 interface was RUNNING
but NOT "SCANNING"
I tried "sudo hciconfig hci0 pscan"
Then... it works until reboot.
So I inserted "hciconfig
This issue no longer exists with Ubuntu-8.10-desktop-amd64.iso.

Somehow the problem disappeared once I edited /etc/default/hal by adding
the --verbose=yes option to the daemon. And then the problem did stay
away when removing the --verbose=yes.

When installing the ia32-libs on a LTS 12.04.2 am getting the same result.

I have this problem since i updated from ubuntu 11.04 to 12.04.
I use ubuntu 12.04 on my incar-pc with wireless connection set to automatic
connection. As i drive around my pc is reconnecting on several networks ( home,
work, clients, and other ( non-secured) available networks ).
