I have the same trouble, when I try to open a .rmvb file, totem starts
but immediately crash. The apport daemon has been sending this report
continuously ( and automatically)

Yesterday night I`ve updated my system Ubuntu 14.04 (X64 ) and the

Testing with KDE updated and I have the same trouble the network is not working
after a 30 o 45 minutes; I can not restart the network so if I wanna have the

I have testing and trying to solve or have some workaround, so I add noapic to
the kernel line and this make the net work fine, but after several minutes the
system freezes and disconect keyboard and mouse usb, as well I have tried with
noacpi with the same results, the best result is around 1 h
Some friend has tell me that WICD could work as well, but this program
do not detect my card. Somebody could test if wicd make the magic for
this network card please?

I have tested to add noapic and noacpi to the kernel line and the VIA-
RHINE card work fine, but after several minutes the system freezes,
first I have got the keyboard and the mouse both usb disconnected and
immediately the system freezes. But I think this workaround could work
for some people.

Some one could test if adding noapic or noacpi to the kernel line work
and the net card work fine? as well could some one test installing wicd
and uninstall network-manager to see if this work?
For me adding noacpi or noapic work for the net card but after one hour
more or less the system freezes,

I keep trying to find what the trouble is, so I`ve tested with another
kernels, even 2.6.32 and the trouble is the same, so I think now that
this could be Systemd problem.

Ther is a related bug in the kernel that could be fixed just add pci=use_crs to
my Kernel options and now I have sound.
