hangs logging in to Yahoo!. It does keep running. I can interact with
it, send messages using other protocols, etc. But it keeps saying
"Connecting...", and my Yahoo! contacts never appear.

I'm experiencing this problem on a Dell Inspiron 6000 laptop, which has
an ATI Mobility Radeon X300 chipset. I have attached my Xorg.0.log file
(produced using the daily build live CD of 15 October). This is from a
straight boot, so with "normal" desktop effects and without proprietary

Yes! I did it. Here's the screenshot.
Clicking on Cancel or Authenticate did nothing. Clicking on Details

I've noticed that in the low values of the line thickness control, for
simple shapes, the displayed value *is* continually updated. I think
it's related to the redraw speed of the shape that is being affected.

I tried following the instructions above, but apport-collect said:
"Package openoffice.org not installed and no hook available, ignoring"
Needless to say I *do* have openoffice.org installed, as well as the PDF
import plugin.
Anyway, I tested this again on Lucid, and the bug is still there. If I

artefacts I would say it's a JPEG. The PDF is attached to this report,
so perhaps you can tell?

I installed Ubuntu Lucid Lynx Enterprise Cloud 64-bit, but it is
completely unusable, due to the fact that upon booting it turns off the
monitor and never turns it back on. This happens also in recovery mode
(after a torrent of kernel messages).
My hardware is as follows:

(without me doing anything out of the ordinary, such as installing
updates or removing files). This is a very strange problem.

Yes it seems so, from the description in that bug. I note that that bug
is two and a half years old, and nothing seems to have been done in all
that time, although it seems to have finally been set to "New" three
hours ago... (?)

I've been running kernel 2.6.34-999 for a while now and it still hasn't
happened, so I'm going to go ahead and say the problem does not occur
with that version. I'll add that information to the upstream bug report.
