I have not heard any objections against merging this into bug 140800 as
they are essentially the same. That
because of changes in firefox: "Remote XUL (XUL through HTTP) has been removed
from Firefox 4 (see bug 546857 for more information). But there's still a
whitelist that allows remote XUL access on a per-domain level

I have filed a bug that provides detailed arguments why complex UNDO is
not good enough (apart from not being realized), and why the simple
"confirmation on delete" dialogue would be a good and simple solution to
this insidious dataloss problem:

Weird, we have had that discussion before:
Users want a warning message (bug 308690, bug 512669, about [shift-]deleting
messages), developers don't like the nagging message, so in the end, nothing
happens. But users lose out, and lose their data, sometimes without even
noticing.-

10+ duplicates atm, and 42 users CC'ed.
If we could have a similar UX as in composition (easily selectable
recipient pills), that would support this basic workflow for many users
and avoid clumsy workarounds in 2023 (see user story for more).
