Very interesting. The error that I got occurs after a sucessful sync. I
did get a failure mentioned before I reset my phone.
If you reset your phone it should work. The 700p is terribly flaky (as
i'm sure you know) I think this is a phone issue not a gpilot issue.

gnome-pilot crashes my Treo
I had a similar problem with "libmozjs.so.0d"
Eclipse requires libxul0d which requires xulrunner.
These are version 1.8. There is a xulrunner 1.9 available in the repos.
I installed it.
I copied the new libmozjs.so file from the /usr/lib/xulrunner-1.9.0.11
into /usr/lib/xulrunner
I figure this
I have tried starteing without GDM and the error still occurs however it
gives me more information when it crashed to the console.

If i modify the xserver to run with no acpi the issue does not occur,
however disabling acpi is not an optimal solution.

There is no error message to speak of however everytime I close the screen X
resets with the same Message as when I perform an x reset with ctrl+alt+bkspc.

Forgive me but I don't know how set it up so that it does not use GDM. I
will look into this however heres the bottom of the Xorg.0.log. I
closed the lid at the time listed next to AUDIT:
