people know there are differences between our two setups, and I'm stuck

though is probably your hard-drive, or USB drivers though, I'd put up an

The only time I got it not to work was when I had the menu open already
then I did alt+f1, and each time that I repeat that same process I can't
get it to repeat now anymore. Sorry.
Maybe put up dmesg, lspci, syslog, etc?

Erm, I meant preferences. It should say "Processor" at the bottom and
for the sub-section "User" you have to click on the square and change
the color.

Well, I would have to say this is a unique problem to you none-the-less,
as my player has a rather large play button, and when moused over, I get
text. I'm running x86 though, not x86_64.
