I can confirm that this is still an issue with the 2.6.27-10 kernel. I
have to use the 2.26.27-7 kernel with ath_pci.ko in order to connect
using wifi.

I had this same problem with an HP Pavilion dv6810us. I did some
research and found out that ath_pci is deprecated because it uses a
proprietary component, and ath5k is the replacement - but ath5k is only
in backports. Once I enabled intrepid-backports in Software Sources -->

I'd love to see this make it into Maverick as an SRU. I tried to update
the diff above for Maverick and xulrunner 1.9.2.12, but my experience in
Debian packaging was unfortunately insufficient. One of these days I'm
going to have to read the documentation...

I'm experiencing this issue also, both with Chromium and Google Chrome.
After installing the .deb package, I can use the Unity search or the
Applications menu to launch Chromium. Either way, there doesn't seem to
