I'm having the same issue with an abit AN52 board that uses the Nvidia chipset. I thought something got screwed up when I upgraded to Hardy beta from Gutsy until I tried it with a brand new Alpha 6 livecd install on a different hard drive. It worked fine until I upgraded to the latest packages.

Amazingly I was able to find a fix after scouring this site. The answer was in bug #75055. If I added pci=nomsi to my kernel line in the menu.lst file I was able to get past BusyBox. Unfortunately all is not well. I can't seem to get Hardy to recognize my ipod and it freezes occasionally. I'm going
