Default firefox fonts are extremly ugly. Change the defalt fonts to
Bitstream and you get a much, much better result.

I don't see why asterisks should be a problem. If someone is able to see the
asterisks on your screen he must stand behind or right next to you. So he would
most likely be able to see your keyboard. And if he sees your keyboard, he
wouldn't be interested in the length of the password since he wo

Summary: If udev is stopped you can't launch any graphical terminal
(tested: gnome-terminal, xterm)
Reproduction:
- open a terminal
- type "sudo /etc/init.d/udev stop"
- try to open another terminal
I read that this is caused by the absence of /de
Is it possible, that you have "-" character in the VG or the LV name? I
have similar problems and I think these character cause it (I have in in
both, VG and LV name).

My suspend only works once per boot. This means i can successfully suspend and
resume, but if I try to suspend again without rebooting/shutdown the suspend
process hangs.
I looked at /var/log/pm-suspend.log and it seems to me, that the kernel fails
to suspend, because all

I look further into the problem and maybe it's not the kernels fault.
If I suspend wihtout gnome running ("suspend" from GDM) the laptop successfully
suspends more than once.

I narrowed it further down: I must have 'something' to do with gnome:
- If I switch to tty1 and do "echo 'mem' > /sys/power/state" I can suspend more
than once
- If i do "echo 'mem' > /sys/power/state" from a Terminal within Gnome I can't
Also the problem vanishes if I use LXDE instead of Gnome.
