Yup, this is most likely due to how Huawei are using different "Linux"
and "Windows" modes. Different mode switch commands will make the
Huawei modems appear differently, and even use different device IDs. The
problem is that there are no Windows drivers for the Linux mode. Not
much we can do ab
FWIW, I have never had any problems using PPP with my Huawei E392 modem
on LTE, except for upstream bandwidth being limited around 8 Mbits/s.
But that is a somewhat different firmware with a different set of bugs
from the E398
