same problem here. I noticed ubuntu 8.10 is missing the Mic boost
option. My hardy install had that option and the mic volume was
essentially controlled using that

yes there is a entry for the wireless security named 'Network secret for
babu_wifi/802-11-wireless-security/wep-key0'
The dialog prompting the password popup's automatically as soon as I login to

I am having the same problem on a Dell XPS 1210 notebook running Edgy
(2.6.17-10-generic). The system locks up only when booting with the
ipw3945 kill switch turned on.

I need not restart the system to re-enable the option. Just have to
disable wireless, disable networking, enable networking, enable wireless

Turns out the theme is actually 3.0 version, although the theme designer says
its 3.2.
I tried this fix from askubuntu.com and it fixed the problem

In order to use 3.0 themes instead of 3.2 theme, just add theses few lines at
the beginning of gnome-shell.css file in the gnome-shell theme
Empathy 3.2.0. Problem still exists. I can reproduce this problem In
Unity and Gnome Shell.
