Here's an example file.
It's created by dragging the site icon in Firefox to the desktop.
Notice the horrible filename, which Gnome desktop doesn't display.

In case it helps, here is the SAME file renamed test.desktop
Place both in the same directory and Nautilus will display them identically.
Both launch in the same erroneous manner.

Intrepid adds insult to injury. The properties of a *.desktop file had
a "Link" tab which used to allow a copy/past
If it WAS fixed in Intrepid, IT IS NO LONGER (in the 8.10 release).

I also have hundreds of broken links. It's particularly bad how all
Ubuntu support forum thread links will not work. I also cannot believe
there hasn't been more posted about it there.

I've been getting nuisance Caja crashes for awhile but I can't reproduce
them until this one. I hope it points to a broader problem. I realize,
by itself, this isn't much of an issue.

Upgraded the following packages:
gvfs (1.28.2-1ubuntu1~16.04.1) to 1.28.2-1ubuntu1~16.04.2
Plus 6 dependents
This fixes the problem on Ubuntu-MATE 16.04.
Tested on MATE 1.12.1 an original install.
Tested on MATE 1.16.2 (Martin's PPA)
