In about 50% of cases the system completely freezes. In the other 40% the
rfcomm data is garbled. In the remaining 10% the data is fine.

I'm having exactly the same problem. I'm transmitting data with my
program attys_scope. It's using QT for the UDP transmit and under
Windows it works. Under Linux it won't. I've tried the nc -klu and it
also just gives one line back. However the same problem arises when I
use a python program which
could you also apply the patch to the package
directly to have this fixed now and then we can wait until it trickles
down from the kernel.
I'm the maintainer of both the firmware and the drivers.
This affects both 32 and 64 bit distros.

Just tested with 4.8-rc4: no ethernet, no bluetooth at all and graphics
defaults to VGA only.
Booted back to the stock ubuntu xenial kernel and bluetooth/network is back up
running.
Looks to me like a massive regression.

The linux firmware has been updated and the usbduxsigma firmware as
well. However it's still the _old_ firmware.
See the diff between the kernel git and what ubuntu has:

This has been reported in July and the firmware still hasn't been
updated. I'm using the board in teaching at my university and now we

upstream for ages but it's still not in the ubuntu firmware package.
It's very disappointing.

I've tested it with comedirecord and it works both the limit to 20M and also it

I can confirm this or a similar crash. In my case there is nothing in
dmesg. It always happens after I've typed in my login details. Then the
next screen stays empty and then the installer just dies.

I've run 'tail -f /var/log/kern.log' while I was working. The system crashes
hard when I mark a region in the terminal. There seems to be _no_ kernel panic
happening but random code execution. After about a minute the screen turns into
random patterns! So, to prevent data corruption I switched

vmlinuz-3.2.0-38-generic. kworker has a very high CPU load, typing is
nearly impossible and also my wired network no longer worked.
I've switched back to 3.2.0-37 and it works fine.
