Oh and after turning off floppy drive in BIOS I've got this:
udevd-event[2338]: run program '/sbin/modprobe' abnormal exit
and a busybox prompt (that's kubuntu desktop install.) No dmesg there,
unfortunately.

results in a crash. I'm not sure if other objects (e.g. formulas) are

I've got the same drive and the same problem in edgy. The drive was
reclaimed from an older machine.
