Steps to reproduce:
1. Install ferret. (Via Software center, Synaptiy or apt-get.)
2. Problem 1: an icon (a question mark within a gray rectangle) for the
new application appears on dash - I guess this is some kind of fallback
icon, meaning ferret doesn't have any suitable i
+I keystroke without need using TAB or
SHIFT+TAB key combinations.

so, to sum it up:
1) when installing grub2 it needs/overwrites more then just the first
sector (first 512 bytes, aka the MBR)
2) TC uses the first 64 sectors (its MBR, then some code to decrypt the
system, and some encryption keys)
3) when chainloading a backed up TC MBR from a file using grub2,
...but installing grub2 to a partition "is a BAD idea" according to its
own warning message when installing.
what's the deal with that warning message then?

Same problem on 12.04 upgraded from 11.10. Under 11.10 USB 3.0 ports
worked fine (although slower then expected - approximately USB2.0 speed)
after upgrading I've got the same error.

After installing sqliteman from software center, it's icon appears on
the dash. If I use the dash icon to start the application, everything
works as expected.
If I start sqliteman by searching it out from the dash home menu, a new
icon is spawned just below the original one f
I will repost this in another bug using ubuntu-bug to get more information in
the bug description.
