The screen won't enter power down. It "blanks" (i.e. goes black but the
backlight is still on). I have configured this to happen automatically
after 10 mins of inactivity, however this doesn't work.
Also running xset dpms force off, suspend, standby will either cause it

This happens to me once every few days. It's very, very annoying. I've
noticed it's usually when I'm watching YouTube and try to move between
monitors, although this may just be sheer coincidence.

I should also add that I have ruled out gnome-screensaver. I removed the
package from my system and it doesn't make any difference to the issue.

Currently using a Dell Latitude E6410 with nVidia NVS3100M running
TwinView mode. Performance was utterly atrocious prior to this, with
periods where Compiz would hog a whole core. Disabling vertical sync
seems to make the machine
