What does that mean, "add -l /dev/null" to the command line"? What is
the full command to disable acpid logging? I'm getting an event in the
log every second, but I can't figure out how to disable it.

I've applied the suse fix for load/cycle problems under hardy, which
sets hdparm to 254 when on ac and 200 when on battery. Works fine on
boot. But when resuming from suspend I have to unplug the cord, or plug
in the cord, in order to get hdparm to use one of those two values. It
always starts back
I posted on the wrong bug, but then followed the link here.
Basically, I need to control hdparm because I have load/cycle issues. I
also cannot enable laptop-mode because it causes hangs / freezing. I
have followed the suse instructions for fixing up the load cycle issue
here: http://en.opensuse.
Sorry, I messed up too. That comment probably doesn't belong here. I've
followed ethany's link to the continuing discussion.

It's a shame this is listed as 'wishlist'. It's more than a matter of
'preference' when it comes to removable media. New users are often
confused why they can't add files to their removable devices even though
it shows enough free space. The reason is because nautilus creates a
hidden trash folder
Did I not? I assumed it was default behaviour. I'll check my settings.
Thank you.
As for your question, no. I'd seen a comment elsewhere requesting this
feature, but I was not aware it had been implemented. I will look into
it further and file a new bug report if necessary.
Best wishes,

Well colour me foolish and, if possible, let me retract my previous

been fixed.
