In reply to Chris Cheney, 2008-04-12: it seems to me that current
versions of OpenOffice do _not_ show error 529 (or "#VALUE") but treat
strings as zeroes instead.
In particular:

I have two Bionic x86_64 systems. One was showing the problem, the other was
not.
The problem disappeared after issuing:
# apt purge python-backports.functools-lru-cache
# apt install python-matplotlib
The first command also uninstalled python-matplotlib.
The second command re-installed python-b

On Precise, squid3 is started by a upstart job, while bind9 is not.
This causes problem if squid3 needs to do DNS lookups when parsing its
configuration file.
Example: the same machine is a DNS server and a proxy.
The file /etc/squid3/squid.conf contains the following line:

By going through the patched code, I may have spotted the cause of the
problem.
Inside sftpProtocol::openConnection() the first call to
openP
The attached patch, when applied to the source of the kde-runtime-4.8.3
package, fixes the problem.
It is the same patch reported to upstream, with different file paths.
