I performed a few tests on my system:
- Memtest reports no errors after running a whole night
- No badblocks were found during a badblocks test
- I swapped out the Nvidia card with another Nvidia card
The problem still persists:
- With the Nvidia driver the system won't boot (a kernel
I tried using the proprietary driver multiple times already.
The installation itself works like a charm, but then the system won't
boot anymore. The kernel crashes (at least I think it does, because the
system is totally unresponsive) when starting the Xorg server.

I conducted a few more tests to make sure there is no hardware problem:
- I ran a memtest68 all night long --> PASS
- I ran a filesystem check --> Fine
- I ran a read/write badblocks scan of my SSD --> No errors
After that I installed the nvidia 650 driver, rebooted and Xorg won't
start as result
This problem also affects me on a Dell Precision 5510 in combination
with a SanDisk Extreme Pro 128 GB.
I'm running kernel 5.0.0-25-generic on Ubuntu 19.04

After modifying the permissions on the /var/run/courier/authdaemon
