I am getting the same error and have exhausted all options in launching
Eclipse with different JVMs. What I need is to be able to run eclipse
under Sun JVM 5 or 6 but I always get this error. I am running Feisty

Nv driver works for me now and installation is fine. Have you redabour
tried to install from alternate CD? That way you propably would be able
to get a working system with the command line and see the installation

I have the same issue with two different Corsair Flash Voyager thumb
drives on two different computers using Ubuntu 10.04. The computer
obviously can see the thumb drive at the boot (so the BIOS settings are
correct), but the screen stays black for the preset time, and then the

We have exactly the same kind of ATI board ("01:00.0 VGA compatible
controller: ATI Technologies Inc RV350 AS [Radeon 9550]") which we can
quite reliably and quickly crash in Jaunty by just taking "Preferences /
Screensaver" and with "Preview" previewing some 3D-intensive
screensavers; "SkyRocket"
I fiddled with AGPMode and other settings (and did not file a new bug
since nothing helped).

My error. I had an unnoticed browser window open on another virtual
desktop. The Flash plug-in prompt was active there, which obviously
prevented it to be shown on any other browser window. Sorry for the

Similar situation. On Ubuntu Wayland. Using the normal Ubuntu dock,
icons will disappear when browsing the web. Then, GNOME's performance
becomes very poor. Constant lag, as if my DE is running at 5-10 FPS.
Unusable until I logout/in again to restart the session.

If you use the Compiz 'grid' plugin to position a window, then change
the viewport of that window with the Compiz 'put' plugin, the window
moves briefly to the new viewport but then immediately bounces back to
the old viewport.
A workaround is to restore the window before put
