I also run into this annoying bug. In my case, I can not comment out my
manual entries in /etc/network/interfaces because I need those for
proper NAT support in VirtualBox (vbox0 interface bridging).
The only way to bring the applet back to life I've found is:
/etc/init.d/Network-Manager restart
There's a brainstorm idea that requests exactly this.
I also like scroll view - specially for browsing music collections. But
without the ability to scroll with the mouse wheel, its usability is
rather poor.

If it didn't make sense, then why does nautilus offer "Open With" with

When amarok has been hanging, I can't doing whatever with it. So any
report of the bug isn't showing, so I runed amarokapp from console by
strace.
Steps to reproduce bug:
1. Run amarok
2. Click Play/Pause (with option Shuffle->Tracks - I'm not sure that is, I have
polish translation)
3. 1st song
Now I've Amarok compiled from SVN and this same problem is alive. In
gnome-system-monitor amarokapp look as futex_wait when has been hanged.
/var/crash doesn't have anything about amarok. The backtrace gives info
about libxine. Maybe I don't have installed any libraries or codecs?

Mario, the fix for this is having HAL bypass the saa7134 infrared port.
The most flexible way to do this is the adding and .fdi file
