(with Samsung proprietary linux driver).

I am also experiencing this with latest Ubuntu 9.04 amd64. My
motherboard is P5W DH Deluxe, and I've tried various bios (enabling
ACPI, EIST, CIE, etc...) and also factory defaults but the gnome applet
frequency monitor will keep warning that the "frequency scaling is not
supported for this process

Today's karmic updates also broke my X-server. I've used startx from the
shell, but after a brief X flash I'm back into the shell, with no other
error than ddxSigGiveUp.
I've tried using the nv driver, but it doesn't help. Also tried Nikola
Yanev's solution, but I still can't startX =|. Using olde
Phew! Latest initscripts update fixed the regression! Glad the
developpers saw the "oops" quickly :)

remember the Print Settings in File\Print... after the last printed

I still do think it's a bug, because Evince should, by default, print
any file with the default specified resolution in

If you press right ctrl (the one left of your arrow pad) one time then
left_ctrl + Alt + Right/Left arrow, it will work.
The right_ctrl seems to tell VirtualBox to clear give the keyboard to host.
This works well, I use it with Virtualbox (running fullscreen)

Another observation : If I use the print to a PDF built-in option, the
print resolution settings falls automatically back to 300 DPI, if it was
stuck on 600 DPI from my previous print.

The proprietary driver installation goes smooth. After driver
installation, scanner doesn't work (through xsane or Samsung's

When using Dvorak based keyboard layouts in Ubuntu 14.04, some keyboard
shortcuts appear to be broken. This is the case for Ctrl-Shift-T, which
I sometimes use in Firefox to open a previously closed tab, or in gnome-
terminal to open a new tab. It doesn't work when the English
Onlycparra, what layout switching hotkey are you using? (click on the
keyboard layout icon in the top right bar --> "Text Entry Settings...")
I've been using Super+Space to switch to next layout and Alt+Super+Space
to the previous, and cannot currently reproduce the issue.

Buidling on Cyrille37's answer, to remove all these *cross packages which were
apparently broken, this is what worked for me:
sudo apt-get remove ".*cross.*"
Be sure to review the packages about to get removed as anything with 'cross' in
its name will be selected. In my case it was OK.

What I expect to happen:
As a user, when I define custom mouse settings in /etc/X11/xorg.conf.d/*.conf,
I expect these settings to be honored by the mouse plugin of
gnome-settings-daemon.
I don't know if xinput configuration is read by gnome-settings-daemon,
but it is not a satisfying workaround as it is not permanent across
sessions. You could but it inside your ~/.profile, but then it would not
work if your mouse is not connected at the time you open your session
