I have very similar settings and I have the same problem, even with the sound
disabled.

big file, about 700MB, to my MMC card. After that I could not unmount it
and now it doesn't seem to mount properly. Is the file system screwed? I
thought that this memory cards use FAT-32, but if so, it should not give

I did not remove the ehci_hcd module as far as I can remember. After rebooting
I managed to write on the MMC card, but the mount point was still unstable. I
have not had more problems so far, but I have not used the card much either,
