I've had the same problem after using the "Repair broken package" option from
the restore console.
This command saved me and restored my Gnome environment like it should be :
$ sudo rm -rv ~/.gconf/
Then you'll need re-apply your Gnome theme and Compiz, if you made any
modification to the defau
