Same problem on 12.04 / chromium. SSL error when trying to connect to
google and other related sites. Also affects sites that use google
content resources. Verified problem exists on 12.04 machine after feb

Edit to my previous comment: I failed to note very different versions of
Chromium, the 12-04 machine runs Version 37.0.2062.120 while the 15.04 Version
48.0.2564.82

Chromium VERSION on Ubuntu 12.04 LTS
As of the most recent update to libnss3 the lack of an update to
Chromium has rendered the browser unable to connect to (so far) google
and related properties (SSL error) Not sure why there has not been an
update to Chromium for Precise but it is clearly long overdue.

the only site I've experienced this on is Craigslist. But that said,
it's the only one I use often which uses this particular type of recaptcha.
