Greetings all - OpenVZ newbie here, trying to get it installed. I was
following instructions posted here
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/210672/comments/25:
$ git-clone git://kernel.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ubuntu-hardy.git openvz
$ cd openvz
Download the patch: http://forum.openvz.
Karoly,
Thanks for the help. I had a feeling that might have been an issue. I
removed the extra patch and made sure I had no duplicates, but when I
try to run it I get almost the exact same error messages from my
previous post. Is there something I am missing? Thank you for all the
help!

Thanks for the help! I don't think I had linux-kernel-devel installed,
so I got it to compile and install the package OK. However, I'm having
the same problem as the other -openvz binary repository kernels - my NIC
does not seem to work. It has an IP and the correct module is loaded,

The packaged version of madman is fairly old. I had this problem year
or two ago, issue was resolved by downloading source from git repository
and compiling. It's a pain getting madman working in Hardy without XMMS
being in repositories and Pulseaudio issues but I was able to get it
working.

On my end rootdelay=200 doesn't even work. As you can see from dmesg,
it initializes USB and some of the ata busses, then hangs for awhile and
drops to initramfs. Then it waits awhile longer and finally detects the
rest of the hardware and continues booting. Gigabyte GA-G31M-S2L MB

Can this be reopened? I've noticed this problem with gthumb for a few
months now, certainly able to reproduce on Jaunty with a fairly large
animated GIF (~7mb). After the image finishes playing all frames,
gthumb CPU usage spikes up and stays there until I switch to a different
image.

Same problem here, mine is mainly with raise/lower windows but sometimes
all key bindings stop working (alt-tab, alt-f4, etc - mouse buttons
too). Only solution I have found is to disable then re-enable compiz
which gets old. I was using xbindkeys previously but not at the moment.

Ditto. About 1-second delay here on drive 100.14.19. GeForce 7600GT &

Also able to reproduce on two stock Feisty systems, both with SATA
drives, get the standard "Error SMART Status command failed" message.
Have not tried on Edgy or previous, so cannot comment if it worked there
or not.

I'm encountering this issue as well, nearly identical hardware here too:
2500k / P8P67 EVO / GeForce GTX 460 / 12.10 / 3.5.0-22-generic x86_64
Oddly enough I only started noticing this when I upgraded my RAM today.
Previously I had G.Skill RipJaws 16GB (DDR3-1066 7-7-7-18 1.5v 4GB x 4)

I understand a fix has been released containing a more accurate manpage
which is great, but I'm wondering if there are any plans to update the
libc script to actually support dns-options at some point. I'd like to
avoid my typical solution of "breaking" resolvconf by setting

@Thomas: Thanks, yes I actually discovered that after finding this bug.
The resolv.conf.d/base solution is working just fine for me.
