why this confirmed bug is listed as invalid. ?
We usually Contribute to Gnome upstream and it supports malayalam very very
well from Gnome 2.16.
But Rosetta simply sucks because it is just duplicating upstream work with no
quality control. And I refuses to contribute to a mechanism with no qua
use this new version. The ttf-freefont version in Jaunty is buggy for
Malayalam. This update will fix it.

I think it is an Rendering engine issue. Netbeans seems to have taken
code from an Old Version of ICU .

Matthias,
This bug is not related to ttf-indic-fonts
It must be related to rendering engine used in OpenJDK. Can anyone
check the rendering engine
ttf-indic-fonts work well with current versions of pango, QT & ICU
without any problems. so it must be an issue with rendering engine
used in netbeans
be adjusted later.

Rachana_04.ttf as a the Default Malyalam font. It is the font currently
used by the debian installer.
Also merging with ttf-indic-fonts in debian will solve the major
existing bugs in Malayalam rend
es. But Fonts without GSUB table is almost unusable now
ps. Malayalam.ttf is the first free opentype font in malayalam

We will release a new version without using English Glyphs.
