however the problem is with the odd way that the Ubuntu developers have
decided to handle the packages for Celestia.
The reason that the textures are missing
I had this issue also with a Canon Pixma MG5250 on Zesty. Upgrading to
the 1.0.27 version of libsane from Rolf Bensch
(https://launchpad.net/~rolfbensch/+archive/ubuntu/sane-release) fixed
it.
