After I activated the USB Magic and added a line to fstab the USB devics
are now visible to vm guests (e.g. Win2000Pro). Then I noticed that I
have 2 sets of folders, one in /dev/bus/usb and a 2nd one in
/dev/bus/usb/.usbfs AND after some USB activity

First checked /boot and had 68Mb free, thought this will be enough.
Apparently not.
After removing some older kernels, now everything works fine again.
Found some hints about this in related Bugreports.
I was a bit too fast in reporting this.

Right after 8.04 64bit server install, it would die 3 out of 4 boots.
I'd hit Ctrl-D, enter some 'ls' command, plug/unplug some usb devices,
LAN cable, anything, and reboot. After a few such tries it would boot
all the way. Later I did apt-get upgrade + update and saw initramfs

Had the same problem with the Jaunty release, and it seems that it
hasn't yet been fixed in karmic daily releases.
I'm currently using jaunty(9.04) since it worked changing the drivers to
fglrx. My guess is that this is related to all the AGP problems with the

hm, after rebooting it doesn't work:

I am using mylvmbackup to backup an XFS logical volume. The script makes
a LVM snapshot with lvcreate, mounts it and creates a targz of the
content.
With 7.04 this worked fine. Since the upgrade to 7.10 lvcreate kind of freezes
the system. Symptoms
I think this is the same as bug #151253. If I change gnome-screensaver
to use a blank screen, X does not die.

Using Kubunty 7.10 Gutsy, kdesktop_lock hangs on the password screen.
kdesktop_lock uses 100% CPU according to top, the dialog box doesn not refresh
and it is not possible to enter the password.
