I have same issue (installed all updates). Without
GRUB_GFXPAYLOAD_LINUX=keep it doesn't crash but then tty's are not
available (bug #447765). I need to issue `sudo restart gdm` command
after booting into low graphics mode and now nvidia is loaded perfectly.

After downgrading to NM 0.7 (from network manager PPA) and removing
modemmanager, it's working now. So I think, the problem comes from
modemmanager it self.

I repopen the bug. I switched the device to `HDR Only` mode, now NM
doesn't connect. I found that only `Automatic` & `CDMA Only` mode are
working. Though, once connected device can use `HDR` mode.

It could be due to service outage in your area. I am seeing frequent
disconnection problem here (device disconnects regularly on 250mb of
data usages). BTW, follow this guide

Looking at your logs, I am sure your BSNL 3G connection is now working
however I am not sure about the issue with your eth0 (wireline connection).
BTW, I have used wireline connection along with my BSNL EVDO connection
previously (with multihoming). So it should work with 3G also.

I just fixed few more bugs (reported upstream) in modem-manager and uploaded
the patched version to my ppa. Now my LW273 modem is working like a charm.
Try upgrading to the latest version from my ppa. BTW, I am not sure what's
happening in your case but I haven't faced any such issue sinc
It happened again to me. The same observation as what others commented
here. This is really annoying.

After looking at your usb-devices-2.txt, I confirm it's switched
successfully and now it should work without any issue. That error
stating `Error: getting the current configuration failed (error -1).
Aborting.` seems to be from the latest changes in usb_modeswitch package
but just ignore them.

I am having the same issue with my Asus K52JT laptop. This laptop has
'Elantech' touchpad so I fixed the `asus-touchpad.sh` accordingly (see
the attachment). Now the problem is that, touchpad is only
enable/disable in GDM screen. Once I logged in, acpid is throwing the
same error.

I think I found the solution. Here is the update `asus-touchpad.sh` (for
Elantech touchpad). The trick is to run the `xinput` with current user
test "$user" && alias xinput="sudo -u $user xinput"
Now, if user is logged in the `xinput` command will be run with the
