I faced this issue while ago. It seems like grub-installer is not able to fetch
efi variables while installing. In live boot I ran "modprobe efivars" as root
and did installation. Everything worked just fine.
I am assuming you are installing in efi mode.Let me know if it works

I am also facing the same problem, Its every where. But i found a
workaround to get working with it. if in a window you are unable to
click some where just move the window around and you'll able to click.

Lenovo G500 Intel i3 Laptop keyboard and touchpad not working after installing
Ubuntu 20.04
It works fine in the Live USB but after installing the OS, the keyboard and
touchpad stops working.
The laptop has Synaptic Touchpad I believe.

time it asked me to install libespeak-dev and try to run the code again.
