I recently upgraded to 18.04, but this caused some problems with some
text editors I am using. I tried to downgrade libfreetype to 2.8.0,
which failed, and then I tried running fix-install in apt, but this also
failed.

This started happening just this morning. After resuming from
hibernation, the screen becomes pixellated, and the screen around GUI
apps, such as File Explorer or Terminal, also becomes pixellated when
opened in a minimized window. Any help is appreciated. Thank you.

I fixed the bug by reverting back to the 340 version of the NVIDIA driver.
It looks like it's a problem with the latest NVIDIA drivers.
