Tried it now on the same laptop with Feisty Beta.
The machine doesn't crash, but nothing happened - i.e., the card was apparently
not recognized.
Nothing appears in lspci or in dmesg when I insert or remove the card.

The problem is somewhat resolved now: I think that the fix was to install the
Microsoft fonts. However, note that under Konqueror, the page renders
correctly even without those fonts installed.

seems to have worked for me, I had already edited my /etc/kubuntu-
default-settings/hidden-root and /etc/kubuntu-default-settings/hidden-
media so I could see everything, those were left unchanged but it looks
like the links are gone. Also double checked by commenting some of the
hidden folders bac
That much I have figured out myself :).
Still, I think it's a bug that affects many users and it needs to be fixed.
(And it's not that harmless. It is creating a huge file in the user's home
directory, which may cause the drive to fill up.)

I upgraded to Lucid (fresh install), and this bug keeps affecting me. I
agree with the previous poster, it's not a low priority bug.
To switch off, I had to put my finger over the power on button and select

Tested the solution from http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?p=8341194
not satisfying. Vol+/- keys do not cause notify-osd to do wild flickering
anymore but multiple key presses (raise/lower volume by 2 or more steps) are
not possible anymore.
Maybe the problem is not the xserver?

Connected my other Keyboard (logitech wireless): Logitech Multimediakeys
worked, Cherry got stuck.
Disconnected cherry and connected it to another USB-Port: Cherry keys work.

I have dell studio 1737. Udev load CPU too much for several hours.
Starts suddenly and suddenly stops. Most frequently happenned after
return from suspend. Issuing udevadm control --stop-exec-queue helps,
but udev doesn't recognise any new devices co

Yes, I tried precisely those instructions. As I mentioned, it was
failing at the
grub-mkconfig -o /boot/grub/grub.cfg
grub-install /dev/sda (try grub-install --recheck /dev/sda if it fails)
because grub-probe couldn't understand my ext3 filesystem. He of course
specifically mentions this probl

Thank you for answer :)
So I have finaly reproduce the bug. I attach the log file.
At the line number 154776 I start play. After that I try to change song
by pressing the next button, a new song start but the first still
playing.

Any suggestions as to what people such as myself should do who just
upgraded to 9.10 without knowing about this gotcha, and now can't boot?
I can get my server up manually, but that's a temporary fix. Waiting
