My LUG friends tell me that their system are affected too but with
generic kernel their systems don't freeze. Instead linux-rt incur in a
hard freeze of the system (neither sysreq keys works!). Policy would
want to move bug against linux source package (when they affected
-generic also) but I prefe

Only files for Ubuntu kernel should be present in that directory. The
fix should be easy: delete all files which are generated by own your
kernels and update initramfs files manually. In any case this bug report
couldn't be considered valid because we don't support self-compiled
kernels.
