Hi there,
I'm now subscribed to the bugmail for this package - I inadvertently forgot to
subscribe to it.
As Jamie pointed out, embryo is *required* currently for edje and elementary,
and you do want them in main, so I'm not really sure you have a choice here.

Hi there,
I'll fix the minor packaging bits in the next debian upload.
I'll try to fix some compilation warnings upstream so that they get fixed in
the next snapshot (which will surely get in lucid), but TBH the evas codebase
is moving really fast these days, and it's hard to keep track of things

I don't think e17 should be depending on X. The fact that it doesn't
merely reflects the common practice that "applications" (including most
window managers) don't depend on X. This responsibility lies with the
Display Manager, ie. packages that provide x-display-manager.

Sorry, but this is not a bug in the Ubuntu package. You have installed
other e17 packages from a third-party repository providing packages that
overlap with the ones provided by Ubuntu, and upgrades between those
repositories aren't supported.

Hi,
elementary-desktop has never been part of ubuntu (at least never as a
result of the `elementary` source package), so I can only assume your
issue is caused by some third-party repository. I'm therefore marking it
as invalid.

I strongly recommend Trusty keeps 0.17.3 as provided by Debian. 0.17.4
and above have had issues with Xrandr and it's generally best to stick
with EFL 1.7.7/e17 0.17.3. I'll update the Debian version once EFL 1.8.5
are in unstable, but that's likely going to be too big a chance to get
into Trusty.
