Rationale: nvidia-settings doesn't have to be launched as root as it
saves the user's settings to ~/.nvidia-settings-rc (so as to have per
user settings). What we could do is make it use PolicyKit to ask the

I have installed kubuntu-desktop (in Intrepid) and both scim-bridge-
client-qt4 and scim-bridge-client-qt were installed (version
0.4.14-2ubuntu2). As a result I can reproduce the problem described in
this bug report.
Here is what happens when I try to launch a program:
:~$ konqueror
/usr/bin/scim
The problem is solved only after removing both packages with sudo apt-
get remove --purge scim-bridge-client-qt*
