It seems that "intel" is not without its issues. It seems to make the system a lot slower and things like Suspend aren't working. Until that is sorted, I can see why it isn't the default. Also, I don't know if this bug should be closed. The bug is that -i810 can't do 1400x1050 natively. It can't.
